I’m doodling on my junk mail as I type this, coloring hearts and polka dots all over the envelope for my license plate sticker renewal notice, and that reminds me that I’ve never told you the story of one of my more embarrassing coloring moments.
Our state motor vehicle agency does periodic audits where they randomly pull names out of a hat (or something like that) and send out a letter asking you to provide your car insurance details so that they know everyone’s following the rules properly. About a year ago, I got one of those notices so I make a list of what I need to gather together and of course immediately started doodling on the letter. I was very careful not to doodle on the return envelope, though. 🙂 And then about a day or two later as I’m getting around to wrapping up the task, I suddenly notice the spot on the letter where is says that your copy of your insurance card MUST be accompanied by the original request letter.
Uh oh. They did get the original notice back as requested, but it was about half colored in! Fortunately it didn’t turn into a problem, and hopefully brightened someone’s day.
I’m being more careful with today’s junk mail – renewing my license plate sticker online and making very sure that the envelopes and papers are ready for the garbage bin BEFORE I begin my doodling. But to avoid any unexpected surprises, I recommend that you all color in coloring books instead of on your junk (and non-junk) mail, lol.
