One of the side effects of really working to create stillness in your life is that words start to feel quite busy. Increasing my daily meditation at home is apparently steering me toward a bit less talking and a lot more listening. You know that you are calming and stilling your internal being when you start noticing things like the sound of towels, lol.
The senses, and the way we use them, change like seasons or the ebb and flow of tides. Blogs, on the other hand, are often stagnant things defined by a set of expectations. I’ve got this incredibly annoying thing on the page where I type my blog that is so useful for generating the little summary and picture for search engines, but it also comes with all of these silly naggy things that rate how well your blog past matches the way that blog posts are supposed to be. I ignore it, of course, but do less well at ignoring the sensation of being nagged.
I’m going to start mixing in “stillness days” in my blog posts – maybe a few, maybe a bunch of them. Those will be days with pictures and maybe a short note or two. Blogging works best when it is a sharing of interests, and sometimes quiet, stillness and photos is the interest. 🙂

Note: This week I’ll be posting somewhat smaller slide shows since there’s a holiday shopping rush on the Internet that’s slowing down a lot of people’s internet connections.
