Intense red shades add a lovely Christmas feel to a coloring. I think that combining lighter and darker shades of red on the jewels in this design really added a lot to the overall mood. They hint at sparkle and glimmer and remind me of the look of decorative lights on a tree.
As a child, I used to love to go into the living room when it was dark and see how the lights on the tree twinkled as I looked at them every which way. I bet I looked ridiculous scrunching up my face, closing one eye, and finding all kinds of different ways to see them. Good thing I didn’t see that side of it – I just saw all kinds of sparklies and twinklies! 🙂
