Today I’m coloring with wax based pencils. The Derwent Coloursoft pencils have quite soft leads and work nicely for coloring medium and larger spaces. They feel quite a bit like coloring with crayons – but the way you always wish your crayons would color, with lovely even color application and quick response to changes in coloring pressure.
The Derwent Studio pencils are a very hard pencil. You can sharpen them to the pointiest points ever and they hold their points for an incredibly long time. They are great for tiny spaces or tiny details. Look closely and you can see how I colored a few shapes with tiny, thin lines using these pencils.
Here’s a slide show with my step by step progress: Colored with: Derwent Coloursoft pencils and Derwent Studio pencils. Using these Derwent pencil shades (Coloursofts have the brown barrels and the Studios have the dark blue/black barrels.) Derwent Coloursoft and Studio pencils
