One nice thing about coloring with broad color themes like sunsets, Autumn leaves, beach colors, fireworks or Spring is that those ideas can be interpreted in so many different ways.
This pale yellow shade is a rather unusual for in my sunset colorings. I would normally consider that shade much more of a daybreak color, but it works as a “beginning of the sunset” color well enough. Or maybe it’s the color of a big pale moon putting in an appearance before the sun has clocked off for the day. Part of the fun of coloring is to let your color moods surprise you at times – and I must admit that I’m quite pleased with how cheerful and light hearted this particular sunset piece looks.

Stray thoughts: The dark maroon shade in the foreground petals is quite a break from my usual habit of pushing the dark shades toward the background. 🙂
