I switched back to markers again today. As much as I am enjoying coloring with pencils now, I like the speed and the smoothness and the bright popping colors of markers so much. It always feels like I’m returning home to them, as opposed to alternating between coloring tools.

Bright markers are still my very favorite, but as I get to know my pencils better I sometimes wonder if someday they will be equals. Not today though. Today it’s all about rich deep aquas and super bright aquas and…

one of my favorite bright pink shades too! It doesn’t matter how cool and relaxing a color scheme may be – there’s something about an almost glow-in-the-dark hot pink that always appeals to me.

I’ve tried to make it look a little more sophisticated by adding it darker companion shade of magenta, but the urge to add more brights is very, very strong today. Unfortunately it’s also late in the day and my coloring time is going to be running out for the evening. This is probably a good time to hold off on picking next color because who knows what shade is going to be the “must use shade of the moment” when I resume coloring tomorrow.

Today’s coloring is from Balance For Crayons And Wide Tipped Markers.
